Solar Monte-Verde Heritage Villa - Goa - (Siolim) Goa
Solar Monte-Verde is a large Portuguese style colonial heritage Villa dating back over a hundred years, which has been meticulously and lovingly restored and converted into a Boutique Resort by Architect Ashley Mascarenhas. The Villa has an impressive façade with beautiful dormer windows and a long and imposing balcao, with traditional mother-of-pearl windowpanes. A high beamed wooden ceiling roof of mangalore tiles, replete with skylights, keeps the Villa cool and well ventilated at all times. The flooring is artistically done with designer tiles of the Portuguese era arranged in attractive and eye-catching patterns. The Villa is nestled under massive trees and surrounded by lush greenery.The Resort is spread over an area of about twenty thousand sq ft.
Solar Monte-Verde comes complete with house staff, which includes 24 hr. security, a housekeeper, a gardener and a supervisor and is available to rent, either in its entirety for families/friends (sleeps upto 12) or for individual couples wanting to take any one apartment on a B&B basis, or otherwise. |

Solar Monte-Verde has five guestrooms, including three Suites. The Suites comprise of two spacious bedrooms (sleeps 4), dining area, small kitchenette and ensuite toilet and bath. The Suites are provided with mini bars and an electric kettle. Each Suite has its own balcony and garden area, with lush green lawns and decorative plants. The other two guestrooms are of single bedroom each, with attached toilet and bath. The furniture in the rooms is typically Goan Portuguese, with rocking chairs, wardrobes, armchairs, divans of the colonial past, traditional Portuguese lights and antique four poster beds. The interior design has been tastefully carried out by Mr. John D’Mello. The long corridor connecting the guestrooms is adorned with beautiful paintings and traditional Portuguese lamps where one can sit and read or unwind in homely privacy. The suites lead out to expansive & well kept lawns where one can relax with a drink next to the fountain or jungle-pool, under the canopy of stars when the sun goes down.
